Hello Neighbor

Sloane Davidson’s leadership in making refugees welcome has expanded, now including a national network of others helping new Americans feel at home. Hello Neighbor helps people form important bonds as refugees and their new American neighbors develop relationships. This helps refugees and immigrant families adapt to the unfamiliar ways of the neighborhood they now call home, and helps Americans form friendships with people with whom they might have thought they had little in common. Hello Neighbor participants enjoyed family dinners, larger community events, and local bake sales of the delicious specialties people brought from their home countries. The pandemic has brought unimagined hardships which Hello Neighbor is helping to address. One person and a simple idea grew into a lifesaving humanitarian movement.
