This historic campaign to raise $150 million for women’s philanthropy in increments of $1,000,000-plus started when Ambassador Swanee Hunt was heading into a dangerous situation and she wanted to have her affairs in order. She rewrote her will to give $5 million to her sister, Helen LaKelly Hunt for the purpose of making a dramatic difference in women’s philanthropy.
Why wait until we’re dead? Asked Helen, matching it with $5 million of her own, and challenging other philanthropists to join the Women Moving Millions initiative for members of the Women’s Funding Network.
As a part of this initiative, the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee’s Women’s Fund joined the WFN to receive a $1 million pledge.
