Even though it's cutting-edge, it's got a better chance than most because it's got Knight's seal of approval.
- It's working. Individuals are paying reporters and producers to create stories. Journalism is being funded by everyday people. And the stories are being picked up and disseminated by some major media outlets.
- There's an innovative model for involving sponsors with site users to produce revenue for spot.us, useful data for the sponsor, and an opportunity for individuals to help pay for journalism by answering a few survey questions. It works.
