Symphony Board Chair Martha Rivers Ingram spearheaded the campaign to raise over $100 million to build the new Schermerhorn Symphony Center. She is a legendary philanthropist and a formidable fundraiser. Responding to her request was one of the most difficult challenges The HF has faced. The Hall opened in 2007. It was hard to say "no" to Martha's big ask, but we steadfastly said "yes" to our funding priorities.
