Coaching Overview

TED Fellows are world-changing innovators from around the globe. With the help of the TED community, the Fellows have opportunities to expand the impact of their remarkable projects and activities. Fellows are drawn from many disciplines that reflect the diversity of TED's members: technology, entertainment, design, the sciences, the humanities, the arts, NGOs, business and more.
All TED Fellows will have the option of receiving the gift of coaching through the SupporTED program. SupporTED is committed to providing the highest level and standard of coaching to the TED Fellows Program participants.
A qualified coach will be selected for each TED Fellow, with matches made based on the Fellow's profile, circumstances, and specific needs.
Will you offer pro-bono coaching to a TED Fellow? Coaches approved to participate in the SupporTED program must be committed to modeling excellence in coaching.
SupporTED coaches must adhere scrupulously to the TED organization's rule of "ABSOLUTELY NO MARKETING OR SELLING" as well as the ICF Code of Ethics.
Coaching can be delivered in whichever mode best serves the TED Fellow: telephone, Skype, instant message, chat, in person. If costs for coaching calls are an issue for the TED Fellow, it is up to the coach to find a creative solution such as Skype or instant messaging.
Coaches are asked to commit to providing a minimum of 10 coaching sessions over 90 days, at a duration and frequency determined between the coach and TED Fellow. Coaches must provide a copy of this agreement to the SupporTED team.
If you and the TED Fellow desire and are inspired to do so, you may continue the pro-bono coaching relationship beyond the end date of your original agreement. As long as the coach and the TED Fellow continue working together, it is expected that the coach will advise the SupporTED team of the arrangements.

You will be notified if you are included in the roster of SupporTED coaches. We will use your application and bio to match you with a TED Fellow we think will fit well with your style and background. Not all TED Fellows will choose to be coached, so not all SupporTED coaches will have an immediate opportunity to serve.
