Meet our Grantees
Catholic Charities of Tennessee
This was a grant from our early days, when we experimented with multi-tiered approaches to a web of interlocking problems.
CCTN wanted to teach English to Spanish-speaking immigrants to help them improve their earning capacity and self-sufficiency, but the potential students had obstacles. So the HF’s grant not only paid for the English lessons, but gave access to laptops for home use when participants couldn’t get to class or wanted to do home study. Child care was made available. Result: most participants successfully completed their courses.
